Democrat Zack Space announces run for state auditor

Former U.S. Rep. Zack Space on Tuesday made his candidacy official: He is running for next year’s Democratic nomination for Ohio auditor.

Space, 56, of Dover, is kicking off his campaign with events in Martins Ferry, Zanesville, Columbus and Lima.

“Ohioans in every corner of the state know that our democracy is broken,” Space said in a statement. “Too many feel left behind and ignored by a dysfunctional process that caters to wealth and privilege. They are right to feel this way — their voices are muffled by the din of special interests and self-serving politicians.”
