Lima Ohio - The Democratic Party has added their first candidate to compete against Republican Keith Faber in the race for Ohio’s next State Auditor.
Zack Space traveled to Plumbers and Pipefitters in Lima to formally announce that he will be seeking election in 2018 as Ohio’s State Auditor. The 56-year-old lawyer and consultant has worked for the law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease for the past six years. He now hopes to replace the term-limited Republican Dave Yost, who is running for Attorney General in the State of Ohio.
The state auditor is responsible for ensuring the state is using resources efficiently and effectively, as well as investigating fraud in public agencies and providing financial services to local governments. If no other candidates come forward, Space and Faber will face off for the position of state auditor in the November elections of 2018.
